If you’re been reading the logs at all recently, you may have noticed a repeated focus on Cloudflare and their platform. Well, astute reader, maybe you figured it out first, but, I am indeed focusing on my new employer!

Previously, I talked about my headaches with c in my journey (and it does feel like a journey) to solve challenge 6 of the cryptopals challenges. I just realized “cryptopals” might give you the impression of something quite different if you’re not familiar with computer science.

Yesterday, after months of work, I finally solved one of the beginner cryptopals challenges. Ok, that’s not totally fair. It’s not like I’ve been working on it a bunch over all these months.

I got bit by the TypeScript bug hard a few years ago. Having the compiler to lean on has made me much more productive and confident in my work. But I know a lot of people don’t feel this way.

Recently, I’ve taken a lot of joy in reading the personal weekly notes that I see authors on the web publishing. I’m not sure if it’s a recent fad in blogging, or if I’m only just getting exposed to a common practice.

The boys and their blocks 2020 has not been especially *ahem* bright for the most part. But I was lucky to find a bit of solace after setting up a Discord server, giving my friends and I a place for a bit of digital community.
